Update: I wrote this a couple of hours before i heard N Korea tested something eles out today, according to their own govt. CNN wasnt yet clear on exactly what it is last I heard.
PJ Crowley and Colonel Jack Jacobs were discussing the North Korea situation at around 3PM today on MSNBC.
One of them is a Congressional Medal of Honor winner so I was listening with half an ear. They were saying that the rhetoric is not good and that once you say "Diplomacy has failed," and "N. Korea is an imminent threat," you don't have many options left. They discussed options and said that once someone drops any kind of bomb, it's on, and they could see Trump using tactical nuclear weapons.
I am 55, and used to have to hide under my desk in the 60s and 70s two miles from downtown NYC, wondering how that desk will help me in the event of a nuclear strike. I never thought I would hear such loose talk about using nukes as I have heard from Trump last year. And now this situation.
I was out in my studio making jewelry, but now I am going to go hide in my room and figure out how much rice and beans we will need to survive this, if we can.
